Assay Development and custom labeling Technician

Job summary:

The Assay Development and custom labeling technician is responsible for assisting with successful development and completion of customer and business driven HTRF Assay Development Projects. Individuals in this position will liaise with customers to better understand technical requirements and make recommendations for assay design improvements. Individuals in this position also use protein chemistry skills in custom labeling of bio-molecules for customers using HTRF technologies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement assay development projects in the Bedford Custom Laboratory assisting Project manager and/or Custom Services Manager. Provide technical support to U.S. HTRF customers for customized assay development. Follow through on assay development projects. Investigate and research different approaches to assay development and custom labeling Write development project reports to support assay development and custom labeling initiatives. Manage inventory for assigned custom assay development projects. Source reagents for projects and manage inventory for assigned new and existing projects. Perform protein purification and custom labeling of antibodies and other biomolecules with various cryptates, XL-665, d2, DNP and Biotin for clients, assay development and collaborations Generate and maintain scientific notebooks and documentation providing record of technical development work on behalf of customers. Maintain cell cultures and cell culture facility.

Key Competencies:

Strong abilities in basic chemistry concepts and application (molarity, Beer’s Law, Acid/Base chemistry). In depth knowledge of theoretical and applied HTRF technology. Experience in immuno-assay development. Knowledge of cell culture / BSL2 lab facilities.


Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry preferred. 2-4 years’ experience in a cell culture lab environment. Knowledge of lab equipment including FPLC systems, Envision plate reader, chromatography columns, spectrophotometer and centrifuges. Aseptic technique/cell culture experience preferred. Must be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office and Graph Pad Prism. Protein Chemistry, biochemical assay and/or cell biology experience a plus. Able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Working in a team environment. Good interpersonal skills.

Technical Sales / Account Manager

Job summary:

Cisbio Bioassays is looking for a field based Technical Sales for its Drug Discovery reagents and services portfolio.
Ideally based in East of France, your territory will cover Germany, Switzerland and Denmark for Biotech and Pharmas in Life Sciences.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify and close sales opportunities in Germany / Switzerland/ Denmark customer base both on portfolio products and custom services.
  • Provide customers with first-line technical support pre and post sales (with the help of our Support service)
  • Work closely with Sales Manager to ensure successful adoption of HTRF technology for customers.
  • Provide market/customer intelligence to assist business development strategy and to maximize company competitiveness and success (monthly report)
  • Prepare and implement sales forecasts.
  • Support trade show promotion by attendance at industry related meetings.
  • Utilize CRM database for client and account info, meeting summaries, strategic planning and all quoting.

Key Competencies:

  • Understanding of Drug Discovery workflows especially as related to Assay Development, High Throughput Screening and Lead Optimization techniques. 
  • Familiarity with Therapeutic Areas and their biology, process drivers and decision points.
  • Proven ability to execute business development in this segment.



BS in Life Sciences or similar
2+ years experience in technical sales with knowledge of biotech and/or pharmaceutical drug development technologies and processes preferred.
German and English mandatory (French is a plus)
Excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills.

Autonome, dynamique, vous êtes prêt à vous déplacer régulièrement au niveau national et à l’international  pour négocier avec des partenaires. Une bonne maîtrise de l’anglais est nécessaire pour ce poste, une 2ème langue est un atout.

Très bon relationnel, disponibilité, sens de l'engagement, adaptabilité, esprit d'analyse et de synthèse, capacité à animer des groupes de travail multi-métiers, sont des qualités nécessaires  sur ce poste.

Scientific Consultant / San Diego

Job summary:

Cisbio US, is looking to expand its Scientific Consultant team and is seeking a Scientific Consultant in the San Diego area.

Successful candidate will provide field based technical support through demonstrating HTRF products in the customer’s lab, presenting on-site HTRF seminars, performing on-site trouble shooting of HTRF assays, and working together with account managers on technical sales calls.

We are seeking someone with experience in customer support and training and / or strong assay development knowledge in both biochemical and cell based assays, key drug target class biology in small molecule and biotherapeutic drug discovery. HTS workflow and fluorescent plate reader knowledge is a plus. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support to customers, helping them implement HTRF technology, migrate assays to HTS, troubleshoot HTRF assays & associated biology.
  • Provide technical support and training by phone and e-mail to customers for all HTRF products. 
  • Provide technical expertise to support business development initiatives, including accompanying Account Managers to prospective customer accounts and providing technical presentations and demonstrations of HTRF technology.
  • Act as key liaison with Cisbio international Research and Development to support customer use and development of HTRF technologies.
  • Generate and maintain demonstration reports and reports to provide record of technical development work on behalf of customers.
  • Proactively share client needs and target based information within the organization by updating our CRM. (Netsuite)
  • Participate in Marketing activities, trade shows, technical webinars, regional shows and quarterly product feedback forms.
  • Research and help qualify work plan for custom assay service proposals.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience in customer support and training.
  • Knowledge of theoretical and applied HTRF technology.
  • Strong experience in design of experiment, assay development/optimization, and HTS technologies.
  • Strong assay development knowledge in both biochemical and cell based assays, and key drug target class biology.
  • Ability to think outside the box, to troubleshoot independently, and to get creative in assay approaches.
  • Timely data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and dynamic presentation skills


  • Minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or similar. Masters or Ph. D preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Assay Development or High Throughput Screening.
  • Hands-on experience with HTRF and/or competitive assay platforms is a plus.
  • Must be experienced in the use of personal computers, IPad, etc.
  • CRM Experience is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of fluorescent plate readers and their operation.
